The Rev. Tyler Jones, Pastor

Our vicar at St. Paul's is The Rev. Tyler Jones.  He came to us from Germany in 2006, having served for two years in Munich as Curate at the Church of the Ascension, an Episcopal Church in the Convocation of American Churches in Europe.  The convocation is the European equivalent of a diocese.  There are eight Episcopal churches and a handful of mission parishes in the convocation.

Pastor Tyler and his wife, Molly, are no strangers to Poughkeepsie.  During 2001 when Tyler was enrolled at The General Theological Seminary in New York City, he and Molly spent time with Tyler's sister who was teaching at Vassar on a fellowship.  Two years later his sister taught at Bard, so Tyler and Molly became acquainted with a little more of the Hudson River Valley.  When his time in Germany was drawing to a close, Tyler listed this area as one in which he and Molly would like to live.

Before Pastor Tyler's call to ordained ministry, he and Molly lived in Florida and Alaska.  They met, married, and raised two children in Alaska, then moved to Pensacola in Florida's Panhandle.  Tyler was working in the maritime field at the time.  They moved from Pensacola to Miami and it was in Miami, attending Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, where Tyler recognized God's call to ordained ministry.
